Corona Del Mar, CA – (HDR)

CDM_Talke
One of Orange County’s best quiet little beach areas is Corona Del Mar! A cute little beach with lovely views and rocks! Great for HDR’ing! I plan on going raw and trying some long exposures here….no HDR’ing! Looks for some shots soon!

When you want to get that sun flare look to your pics…f/22 is the trick!!

Newport Beach, CA – Sunset

Balboa Sunset SW+Talke
We have been enjoying Friday nights at Balboa (Newport Beach)…we head down and rent bikes to ride along the beach paths and last nite we took the 1 mile ride to the Wedge to watch the surfers. We wanted to get back to the pier for sunset….as we were peddling back I saw the sun fading fast and pulled my bike over to grab this photo near the pier. SoCal at its best!!

Huntington Beach, CA – Duke’s (HDR)

Duke's Huntington_talke
Take a cruise to Huntington Beach and when you arrive at the Pier…you cannot miss Duke’s! A great place to have lunch or dinner while overlooking the beach and ocean. Here you can watch a few volleyball games or surfers catching a few waves. I arrived this early AM and enjoyed the peaceful view before the beach crowd arrived. Life is a beach!

Irvine, CA – Irvine Spectrum

Irvine Spectrum_Talke
If you are ever in SoCal…in the middle of LA and SD you can find the city of Irvine. This is where you can find the cool outdoor shopping location called the Irvine Spectrum. Great stores and restaurants!! I have passed it about a billion times and finally decided to photograph the ferris wheel. This was a long exposure. I did however get talked to by security. Unfortunately it is private property, therefore, no tripod setups for photos. But one loophole is that if you are taking shots of your family, they cannot stop you. I had my little one stand in front and “photoshopped” her out. =) Have fun!

San Juan Capistrano, CA – All Aboard! (HDR)

SJCap-HDR-SW
We recently took a nice Saturday morning drive to San Juan Capistrano. It is a small cute little town in SoCal. I was there to scout out future portrait sessions and brought along my camera to take a few shots. It was a typical sunny day in CA, so HDR was not in my mind. We walked along the train tracks and the Amtrak Train pulled up. Here you can catch the train down to San Diego if you would like! One day I will try it…unfortunately, it is not cheap! But I bet great views of the pacific!! After the people got off I set up for an HDR. Kinda an unexpected cool shot! A mid afternoon HDR! Enjoy your weekend!

Over the weekend we took a drive to the town of Orange. It was set up for a Christmas Spectacular. Luckily we arrived way before it started. Located at the Orange Circle you can find this tree decorated and ready for the holidays! Palm trees + a Christmas tree = a SoCal Christmas!! Hard to believe it is December already!! You all better be good for Santa!!! Still have lots of shopping to do!!
