San Francisco, CA (Infrared)

Infrared before and after
I have always loved the before and after shots people post on the net. Many non-IR photographers may not know how a IR photo looks directly from the camera. You can see it above! Processing an IR shot is easy…but you need to know how to work some photoshop magic. This is the full version processed shot below. Enjoy! I may post some HDR shots like this soon!

San Clemente, CA – Pier (HDR)

San Clemente Pier HDR
While shooting our XMas card in San Clemente at the Pier, we finished early and I took a few HDR’s of the pier at sunset. I’m thinking of making a run of SoCal pier shots over the next year or so and possibly making a photo e-book? I’m a big fan of piers in HDR’s. Might make a cool coffee table book in my studio one day??

This shot above was a different angle and a “Photoshop Action” to give it the tone. I have learned to enjoy actions. If you use NIK or onOne…relatively about the same output…but there are so many more actions out there! Google “Photoshop Actions”…you can buy some cool ones and find some for free!

San Clemente, CA – Pier (HDR)

One more pic from my new favorite beach spot in SoCal…San Clemente. This shot was taken while in midst of my family session. Kudos for the good eye Dan! Dan asked if I could snap this shot of the seagulls under the pier. I did and after processing…a favorite!! A different view of a pier! Enjoy your weekend!!

San Clemente, CA – Pier

We spent Saturday and Sunday in San Clemente at the Pier shooting some sessions and this was my first visit! Such a cute little beach area! I did not bring my gear for HDR’s or IR. But will plan to visit in the next week or so to get some sunset shots!! The photo above is just hand held standard photo with a texture added. A beautiful day in SoCal!! Look for more pics from here soon! Enjoy!

Myrtle Beach, SC – Pier (HDR)

Unfortunately, this year we did not get a chance to head to Myrtle Beach for the summer vacation. I love to visit there!! Summer is almost over, so I wanted to flashback to this beautiful sunrise on this day in Myrtle!!! Hope you enjoyed your summer!!

Newport Beach, CA – Pier (HDR)

We are planning to move from Austin soon. Our destination….Orange County, CA. I had lived there for a few years and it will be great to be back! Places like Newport Beach will be in my backyard. I’m excited about my future photographs. I will plan to master long exposure at the beaches. Portraits at the beaches. Texas will be missed. Bring on the In-N-Out burgers!!

St. Augustine, FL – Long exposure

This was taken on a very cold early AM last year in St. Augustine, FL. It was February and about 32 degrees outside with a nice crisp 20 mph wind. I can’t recall ever being that cold in Florida. Any photog out there knows the fun we endure just to get that shot! This was a peace of cake, but I know we all have that story of hanging off an edge…putting our life in danger…all for photography! Stay safe!
