The summer is almost over and here is a nice summery shot of 2 beautiful water lilies. They are one of my favorite flowers! These are from our local Zilker Botanical Garden here is Austin. I visit here just to take these shots. The little pond is right by the entrance. They are just so pleasing to the eye!! Especially when the sun hits them right. The center looks like its on fire! Hope you had a great summer!
One of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas is the Bellagio. This shot was form early AM one morning while all the party people were sleeping. It was only me and the Garden Caretakers. They were working hard on exchanging flowers…keeping them fresh and beautiful. This little garden is located right next to the reception and through each season, they have different exhibits. Very lovely!

I was in Japan last week and had a free morning on Saturday before my flight left to take some photos. I was staying in Tokyo and was happy to get a chance to see the Cherry Blossoms just starting to bloom! It is a magical time in Japan. The next 2 weeks in Tokyo will be amazing! If you ever get a chance to visit this time of year…it is indeed special! This tree was going strong! A few others were not as far along as this one. There was a nice crowd around this particular tree as you can see how beautiful it was! I added a little diffuse glow to the photo to soften the look a bit. I have an HDR from here as well…will post it soon! Spring has arrived!
While in Greece a bit ago…we traveled up to the Acropolis and my dream was to see the Parthenon. I have posted about this in the past…I was saddened by the fact it was under a ten year refurbishing project. Does 10 year really mean 10 years or will it take more time to refurbish this wonder of the world? Hmmm. At this time I could only find a few angles to shoot from as there was scaffolding all around the structure. So what is a photographer to do when his subject is lacking? Look around! Just behind the Parthenon was this pile of columns possibly under construction? I enjoyed seeing these red flowers surround them…a nice contrast. A favorite photo of mine from the trip! We will get back there again…but not until the Parthenon is ready!
