From downtown Denver, CO you can find the Capitol Building. I processed this same shot just recently, but just for fun wanted to try a different look. A darker grungier version is above. Which one is better? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! Here is the other version…
I fly into Denver a decent amount a times per year. Every time I ride the car rental shuttle bus I pass this super cool Bronco statue. Tough to miss! I always say…I have to grab that shot one day! It is located in the middle of the major roads going in and out of the airport. This day I was driving back to the airport early and decided to pass the Hertz return center and pull on the shoulder….park my car and take the 5 minute walk up to the Bronco with my gear. Not sure if it is the safest idea…but sometimes to get cool shots, ya gotta do dumb things! The surrounding area is not great…so I added some textures to spruce it up. It was taken during the winter time and was a bit chilly this day as well! Now I can take this shot of the bucket list!
From Denver, CO the Capitol Building is a beautiful location for an HDR! I remember I was on my way to the airport this day and stopped in for a couple quick shots. The interior dome rocks! With this shot I added a little different look…almost looks Egyptian? …Using onOne Software Photo Tools. Have fun!

If you are in downtown Denver you can find the Colorado State Capitol. I had never been until this day and knew that inside you can find a cool dome view. My thoughts were with any circular view is to try a fisheye! I have had experience with my local dome in Austin, TX…and knew it would work just right! Getting the right angle was they key. I stopped in this day for a quick 10 minutes and then had to catch my flight…so time was limited. I dodged a classroom of kids and people walking down the stairs to attend another session…and luckily grabbed this photo! Enjoy!
King Kong may live at the Denver Zoo!! Luckily this BIG guy was on the other side of this thick glass. I had never seen a gorilla up this close. I am impressed! Not sure how much he weighed, but I am guessing 500-700 lbs. Pure muscle!! He was checking out the people as much as the people were checking out him. I can safely say that I will not ever go into the Congo looking to find gorilla’s in the mist!! This photo is close enough for me! LOL
I have been working on growing my photoshop skills and have seen many photographers take a subject (usually a car) and make it stand out. I did a young Giraffe and it came out as a fun shot! It is not too difficult to produce such a photo…took me about 20 minutes. The outcome is always kinda neat! Makes it seem as this little guy has a super long neck! LOL Have fun!
They say a picture is worth 1000 words…this one might be worth a few more? A touching moment to capture in time. I get a tear in my eye just looking at it. This one is for Mom’s all around the globe! Love is universal!! As this happened everyone around was ooh-ing and ahh-ing! Someone yelled out…hope someone took that photo! Whew! Luckily I got it! The world seems alot better after seeing a moment like this! =)))
