We did it…we moved from Austin, TX to Southern CA! Just getting settled and that will take a month or so….look for some cool SoCal HDR’s soon!! This is from the old Packard outside of Vista West Ranch. The interior is sweet! Look how comfortable that seat looks! =) Have fun!
I had a bucket list of shots I wanted to take before leaving Austin. This was one. One day we were looking for new locations and came across this super rusty old Packard at Vista West Ranch. I knew I had to go back and shoot it in HDR. Such a stunning cool spot for a wedding!!!!
Some info from their website…
Our love and commitment to our clients isn’t the only thing that makes Vista West Ranch special. Our venue is located in Dripping Springs, just 20 minutes southwest of Austin, nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Hundred-year old oak trees, an enchanting waterfall, amazing sunsets, breathtaking views of the hill country that seem to go on forever… these are just a few of the reasons that our clients choose to celebrate their weddings with us. Our onsite lodging accommodations also make Vista West Ranch a top pick for couples choosing Austin as the location for their destination weddings.
It is a beautiful place! I can only imagine all the wonderful photos taken with a bride and groom with this old Packard. Looks to be a 1950? Not sure. Classic! Kudos Vista West Ranch!

From the lovely city of San Francisco, CA – this was taken one early morning at Fisherman’s Wharf. It was parked and empty in front of the CVS Store. The driver must have ran into CVS and grabbed a coffee…it is public transportation, the door was open and I decided to go in and take these HDR’s. A few minutes later the driver came back and jumped when she saw me! I guess she had no idea I would be in the car. I felt bad and apologized, she said it was ok and let me continue taking photographs. All for the love of photography! This one is done in Fisheye! Enjoy!
Only one month away until the Daytona 500. Daytona is the Super Bowl of NASCAR. My sis gets tickets every year…so I have been to this race 3 of the last 5 years. I may have posted before…I have been to many different sporting events and nothing beats the excitement of the Daytona 500. It does help as out that the tickets are the first row (about 10 yards from the track). When those cars come roaring by….WOW! We even get a small amount of dirt and junk flying in our faces! Makes a hot dog and beer taste even better! LOL This shot was from 2008 (50th year of Daytona) thanks to “Pit” passes. You can get pretty close to the cars. Here they are rolling out Kyle Busch’s car for the start of the race. I wish I could use my connections and get a chance to shoot the race…maybe one day. Now I will settle for shots from the stands! Looking forward to the race next month! I added a little Topaz Adjust to the shot for a little more grit.
