This one is for New York City! One of the best cities in the world! Tomorrow marks the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 and my thoughts and prayers go out to all that lost loved ones on this horrible day. I was watching some shows just this past week on the attacks and still get sick to my stomach…even 10 years later. The world is a better place now, but still will never be the same. I am proud to live our amazing country…USA!!!
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Or the chance to pass up on a delicious M&M! If you are even in NYC near Time Square, stop by the M&M World store and enjoy! When you walk in you get an immediate aroma of M&M’s! Its a very cute store with lots of M&M products to see. I went upstairs and saw this interesting fellow in the corner of the store. It was quiet when I arrived. I thought hey…why not take an HDR! I took out my tripod and set up…5 exposures, cable release and took a quick shot in between the people coming to pose with him!
Here is a little info from the web: The New York City store is within a 24,000-square-foot (2,200 m2), three-level glass box, in Times Square. It includes a 50-foot-wide, two-story-high, “wall of chocolate”, made up of 72 continuous candy-filled tubes. M&M bills it as “the world’s largest.” M&M World in Times Square is New York City’s largest candy store, and offers merchandise such as themed clothing, dishware, watches, and piggy banks. The most famous location is in the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada; stores also opened in Orlando, Florida (2005) and New York City (2006). Hope your day is candy filled!
As I have been on an HDR run…might as well keep it going with this HDR of Times Square – New York City. I took this shot last September. It was my first attempted HDR! I just ran it again through my current settings and updated it today! Your skills change with time, so never delete any pictures. Go back and try a fresh current version….it may work for you. As your photogrpahy skills grow – a fresh new look on a photo may bring it back to life.
Buildings with lights and clouds make the shot. Times Square is perfect for HDR! Day or night is ok. I was lucky and took this shot hand held with 5 exposures and post processed with Photomatix. I’ll be back in NYC later this year. Its the greatest city in the world! A must see for everyone…hope you have or will make it for a visit. If you can make it there…you can make it anywhere! Its up to you! New York, New York!!!!
