HDR Real Estate business in Orange County is great! The housing market is picking up here. Offers come in quick and many are investors that make cash offers! Crazy! Tough to contend. I photographed this beautiful house recently! 5300 sq ft and a list price around $1.65 Million. I better start playing PowerBall! LOL
From a recent real estate session in Orange, CA….this a beautiful back yard patio. Perfect for relaxing or for a cookout! I have been shooting a little more HDR’s for Real Estate. Here in SoCal…lots of houses are always up for sale! We pick up the local housing catalogs and so many of these magazines have very bad HDR house photos. Most agents do not realize the pics are a bit lackluster. Halos and inconsistent light in most pics. But for photos…beauty is in the eye of the beholder…so maybe it works for them?
I try to make my Real Estate HDR’s realistic with that HDR touch. At first, my Real Estate HDR’s were full on HDR. Very cool…but in my opinion…too much for the average home buyer visually.
I think most of the HDR shooters in this area are “turn and burn”. Meaning they shoot, process and quickly move on to the next job. Its about job quantity for them. Quality takes a hit. HDR’ing is art…if done properly. Real Estate agents deserve better photos. If you are an HDR artist…give this business a try!! House photos are typically the first item potential buyers see….you only get one chance to make a first impression!! Your pics should bring people in the door!
From a recent shoot from Irvine, CA. The house is due go on the market soon. These were some shots for a mailing. If you live in OC and are looking for a roughly $5 Million house…give Raj a call!! www.RajQsar.com A beautiful house! I may need to hit the lottery to buy this one! Good luck on the sale Raj!
I am now home from my travels for bit and want to get started on using my HDR skills for something different. Selling prints and digital licensing has been great, but I am all for diversifying my styles. The more options the better. Next step is to get into Real Estate Photography. It is an easy gig for 1-2 hours on weekends. I plan to limit my shoots and see how it goes! I have been studying detials for the past few months since my first attempt in which I posted here. If you are an HDR artist…I will keep you updated on my plight. My approximation is that each shoot should run at a price of $250-$1000 depending on house size & number of photos.
So I went out at lunch yesterday and took a few shots of a model home (above) that is right near my house. I took this as I was leaving and thought a full sun HDR..nah. After post processing..not bad! That is thanks to the rock facade! Adds nice details and texture. The next step is to take a bunch more shots/houses and build my portfolio. Then prepare a flyer/mailer to local agents and see how the feedback goes. Later this summer, I hope to land a few gigs. I’ll gladly share my scoops. One more shot of the house (settings below are for the outside shot).
