Praying Mantis in Infrared

Yesterday I happened to be eating a snack and looked out into our garden and saw this dude hanging out looking for a snack as well!  I rushed out with my IR camera and was eager to see how the shot would turn out?   Perfectly located on some small flowers, he gazed at me and my big lens.   I can only imagine what goes through the mind of this little guy, seeing me walk up like a giant to squat only inches away.  He posed and I snapped away!  Grabbed a few versions and was off to grab my visible camera.    I came back and he was gone!   Oh well!   He is now caught forever in infrared time!   It seems that here in Austin, Sept/Oct is Mantis time, we see quite a few around here!
