I know..I am about 2 weeks late for Valentines Day…but Love happens everyday. =) ….and I took this shot yesterday and wanted to share it! As a photographer, one of the keys to success is to be inspired. Magazines, books and web sites are great places! I saw similar shots on Flickr a few weeks ago. There are various forms of playing cards with the word “LOVE” spelled out. I saw one that had pink playing cards…wonderful! I wanted to have a shot like this in my portfolio and add my touch to it.
I searched the web for pink playing cards and could only find Bicycle “Its A Girl” Cards on Amazon. $2.99 and a few days later I received them in the mail. Perfect! I just grabbed a sheet of white paper placed them on the paper near my kitchen window and it took about 30 shots to get the right angle I liked.
I brought it into Photoshop and used the “Clone Stamp”tool to make certain areas of the Ace and Queen magically disappear. For the Queen I used the lasso to the one half nearest the right..copied it…flipped it…then moved it to make a nice O. I played around with the colors. I had one red version..it was cool. But the pink looked better. Maybe I will save the Red version for next Valentines Day! =) I then thought it needed something that would make it stand out from all the other Flickr pics. Why not add a texture? I added a heart texture and thats is it! So go out and get inspired…take some new shots or go make one you have seen your own! Maybe this pic can be turned into a greeting card?? If you want an IPad Wallpaper…get it here..LOVE
