The Hoodman HoodLoupe 3.0 web site states the following: HoodLoupetm 3.0 Professional is worn around your neck just like a normal loupe. When it is time to review your shot; bring HoodlLoupetm3.0 up to your image and place your eye up to the eye cup for complete glare free viewing. HoodLoupetm3.0 has a +-3 diopter to accommodate those with less than perfect vision. HoodLoupetm3.0 adjusts focus just like a binocular eye piece… you turn the eye piece in or out to set for your vision. Minimal magnification is used to eliminate visual pixilation of your image. Each Hoodloupe tm3.0 is encased in a user friendly rubber for comfort and protection from bumps that will occur throughout your shoot. Comfortable lanyard and compact protective storage case included. Fits up to 3.0 inch LCD screens.
I have the Nikon D300 – and this is awesome! I shoot alot of daytime landscape and some sports. I think back to a few months ago I was shooting some tennis in Palm Springs. I must have hit a button while walking and one set of pics was on an incorrect shutter speed because it was a bright sunny day and I could not really see the shot correctly in my LCD review. This is the reason I purchased this HoodLoupe 3.0. It hangs around your neck and is very light! Even comes with a carrying case. The price is high at $79.99 – but well worth it (make sure to check to see if it will work for your camera). I also have bad vision and with the adjustable diopter – I get to see my pics in great detail. I set my Nikon for a one button push automatic zoom, this way now I can see if I was in proper focus on each shot glare free! With the Loupe all I need to tell you one word – fantastic!!! Hoodman HoodLoupe 3.0 is definately not “Loupe”-y….I give it a 10 out of 10!!!
On their website, they have a few additional products – I also use the HoodEye (Eyepiece) – I love it! – another great product by Hoodman!
