I just received my copy of the new book…The Scariest Places on Earth, Stanley Hotel. Just in time for Halloween! Why am I excited…they have used my HDR photo of room 217 inside! Below is a scan from the book of my photo. Very cool! I always enjoy seeing where my pics show up. This book is for kids. You can find it on Amazon.com here…

Vienna, Austria – Mime (Infrared)
I was lucky to have a weekend in Vienna, Austria on this trip and spent the day walking around and taking photos. I went out with my Infrared camera ready to capture some memories. I saw this mime dressed as Beethoven or an old school Venetian? He was entertaining and took pictures with many people. Not sure if he made much money…but when you come across moments like this…it makes your trip memorable! Thanks mime guy!
I am fading fast from using NIK software…especially for B&W shots. I now prefer “Perfect B&W” by onOne software. So many options! I used it for creating the shot above.
About 30 minutes from where live you can find the sweet hotel Mission Inn. Great for HDR’ing! I went up this day early to grab some shots and love the architecture! This is a walkway that overlooks the courtyard below. I am looking forward to going during the holiday season….they have a million lights! Look for pics in December. Have fun!
Newport Beach, CA – Sunset
We have been enjoying Friday nights at Balboa (Newport Beach)…we head down and rent bikes to ride along the beach paths and last nite we took the 1 mile ride to the Wedge to watch the surfers. We wanted to get back to the pier for sunset….as we were peddling back I saw the sun fading fast and pulled my bike over to grab this photo near the pier. SoCal at its best!!
Photoshop Fun!

Whitehouse, NJ – Diner (HDR)
I recently traveled back to NJ and finally noticed they demolished this old diner in Whitehouse. I think even as a kid it looked like this. I heard there was a fire and it sat at this location for years looking just like this. As I look back I am glad I took an early morning visit to the diner to capture it in its grungy decay. Great for photos!!
I miss the Jersey Diners…my favorite meal at any diner is a Pizza Burger! OK…now as I type this I am hungry! Enjoy!
