Nikon FE2 in HDR

In the past month I visited family and my Uncle gave me an old Nikon FE2 film camera. It is broken and needed to be fixed. I gladly obliged and took it home to get it repaired for him. In my years of serious photography…I have always had a digital camera. So this was the first time ever seeing/holding a semi-professional level Nikon film camera. Some info on the web about this camera:

The Nikon FE2 is an advanced semi-professional level, interchangeable lens, 35 mm film, single lens reflex (SLR) camera. It was manufactured by Nippon Kogaku K. K. (Nikon Corporation since 1988) in Japan from 1983 to 1987 (available new from dealer stock until circa 1989). The FE2 used a Nikon-designed vertical travel focal plane shutter with a speed range of 8 to 1/4000th second, plus Bulb and flash X-sync of 1/250th second. It has dimensions of 90 millimetres (3.5 in) height, 142.5 mm (5.61 in) width, 57.5 mm (2.26 in) depth and 550 grams (19 oz) weight, and was available in two colors: black with chrome trim and all black. The introductory US list price for the chrome body only (no lens) was $446. Note that SLRs usually sold for 30 to 40 percent below list price.

I will get it fixed in September and plan on buying some film and giving it a go before sending it back to my Uncle. I will gladly have an old school vs. new school photo battle!! Look for it in the fall! Now as for the pic above..I thought why not HDR the FE2! I am not sure I have ever seen it done before. As it was an HDR..I decided not to clean or dust the camera. I can even see a fingerprint. I set up a product style shot with three lights and did 5 exposures. Not your typical HDR..just something a little different!
