St. Augustine, Florida – Flagler College (HDR)

While taking a stroll through St. Augustine, FL earlier this year and came across this wonderful little college.  Right inthe heart of St. Augustine.  The architecture was beautiful on the outside, so I took a stroll inside.  Very nice!  I walked in the first door and this was the view!  I set up my tripod and right afgter I took the shot a security guard came up and asked me to take down my camera rig as no pictures were allowed.  Hmmm…a private college? Not sure.  But at least I got one shot!  =)  Looks like a great place to go to school!!

It’s because you had your tripod that they told you no photography. Professional photographers need to have special permission. Unfortunately Flagler security thinks anyone with a tripod is taking photos for financial gain. Sorry you were turned away. Great photo, though!

This image is just so lush! Okay, I know that’s not a a good, technical description, but it really is lush. Beautiful work, as usual. Great job, Pete!

    4. Do you know the history of this amazing building? There is a significant meaning to every single detail in that room. It appears flawless actually, but there is one little flaw made on purpose by Mr. Flagler himself. The history here is absolutely amazing. I encourage you to research it further if you haven’t already and perhaps tour the building with a student guide at either 10 am or 2pm nearly any day of the week. It is totally worth it. There are so many little known facts about the Hotel Ponce. Great photo though! You really captured its essence.
