Austin, TX – Texas Tower (HDR)

A few weeks back during the holidays I went out to shoot the University of Texas Campus.  This shot is from the Texas Tower.  As you walk up the front steps here is a nice symmetrical spot for an HDR!   I have lived in Austin now for over 3 years and in the past year finally have taken a few trips to enjoy the local scenery!  We are not sure how long we will stay in TX, but I have a long list of sights still to visit!  Austin has many wonderful photographic opportunities!   Over the last year I have attended many local photo meetings and photowalk’s in the area.  It is a great pleasure to introduce some fantastic local artists (that also shoot in HDR).    We have an extremely talented bunch here in Austin.   I hope we all can get together for a spring photowalk soon!  Check out their work and websites:

*  Andy (Flickr – ATMX)

* Dave Wilson (News & Views from Dave Wilson)

* Evan Gearing (Evan’s EXPO)

* Jason St. Peter (50% Chance of Rain)

* Jim Nix (Nomadic Pursuits)

* Mike Connell (Mike’s Photo Blog)

* Michael Tuuk (Michael Tuuk Photography)

* Trey Ratcliff (Stuck in Customs)

* Van Sutherland (Exile Imaging)

The style of HDR is growing tremendously fast and it is an honor to be part of photography in these wonderful times.  I am not sure what the future holds, but it can only get better!   Improvements with cameras, lenses and more importantly software makes posting our HDR shots a great pleasure.    It is fun for us photographers to get together for a photowalk.   If you ever wanted to shoot with anyone that you may know from Flickr or your local town…just ask!  Photographers by nature are nice people!   We should get together more often and this is how we learn and improve!   I travel all over the world!  If you see I have been in your town…let me know.  Hopefully we can get together and shoot!   I just got back from San Fran and shot with a Flickr buddy Horace  Kwan (Horace Kwan Photography).   Thanks Horace…that was great!   We got some cool shots from the city!  Will post em soon!   So go out have fun!
