Austin, TX – Capitol Building (Infrared)

IR Austin Capitol Bldg

NIKON D70S (Modified IR by LifePixel), Nikon 18-70, Photoshop

Here is a photo of the Texas Capitol Building in infrared – converted to black & white.  I had a few mintues yesterday to take some shots of the Capitol building and mainly shot in IR as the sun was bright and strong!  When walking down Congress Avenue you can head up this walkway all the way to the Capitol Building.   I thought this would look decent with the tress linig the path and a litte hint of clouds!  I will plan on working up an IR tutorial later this summer.   Hope the HDR tutorial is working ok for you???  Enjoy!

Austin, TX – Three of a Kind

Water Lilies 01

NIKON D300, Nikon 18-200 VR

I took a drive late this afternoon to downtown Austin.  On the way I stopped in at the Zilker Botanical garden for a few Water Lily shots.  It was perfect time to see them open wide for the afternoon sun.  The little pond at the garden had quite a few lilies in many different colors.  I’ll post some on my website in the next few days as I process them.  This shot was very nice.  Even a little bokeh on the third lily!   While downtown I took some IR shots of the Austin Capitol Building and some HDR’s as well.  If they turn out solid I might make a little Austin, Texas picture run!
