Paris, France – Arc De Triomphe

Paris, France - Arc De Triomphe

Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200 VR

I received an wonderful email yesterday from Schmap.com.  They have included my picture above in the “Schmap Paris Seventh Edition”!    I plan to be in Paris later this year and will look for a copy.  The link to Schmap Paris with this photo is http://www.schmap.com/paris/tours_tour1/#p=3029&i=3029_87.jpg   ….as they say in France – Voila!  (sounds like Wah-La! )  It means there it is.  LOL  I love when they use that saying in France!  Cracks me up!  Another reason to love Paris!

I have always taken photos fo rmy enjoyment and memories.   But we all feel as though we would enjoy seeing our work on a wall, frame, place of business, publication…basically anywhere!  Why?  Because it nice to get noticed.  Photography is an art.  Artists can choose to be unknown or known.  I prefer known.  We all should have goals.  If you want your work published also – you must work at it.   A great start is to read the Photographer’s Market (click on the title to take you to the Amazon.com site link).   If you know you have great shots – go out and get them noticed!

D-Town TV – Weekly Show for Nikon DSLR users

D-Town Logo As you all know by my posts….I use Nikon equipment.  Of course there are many other brands out there, but I enjoy using only Nikon.  So for those of you that are using Nikon – there is a great show I’d enjoy telling you about.  I catch it every week.  It is called D-Town TV.  The wonderful hosts are Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski.   Every week Scott & Matt post an episode online (it is also available as a podcast).   They give you great tips/tricks/news/accessories for Nikon DSLR cameras.    The show is fantastic and you can click on this link to visit http://www.dtowntv.com   There are guest spots by one of my favorite photographers – Joe McNally.  Joe recently published a wonderful book that I enjoyed reading and using for reference on using flashes (as one day I am eager to learn how to become a portrait photographer).  This book is called The Hot Shoe Diaries (click on the title and it will take you to the Amazon.com link).  Another guest spot is Scott Diussa – Manager of Nikon Professional Services (NPS).  Scott adds more great tips to the show!   I eagerly await each new episode!    Hope you enjoy D-Town TV…have fun watching and learning!
